Have a Nice Weekend
According to Wikipedia, today’s idea of a non-working end of the week comes from the Jewish Sabbath, the Judaism’s day of rest. Then again, Sunday (translated as “Lord’s Day” in various languages that played a part in the diffusion of Christianity) also used to be the day of rest that was dedicated to God, for Christians. In the 20th and 21st century, days of religious practice mainly became ideal moments for a break from the workweek and opportunities to meet friends and family.
In all seriousness, weekends are the best short celebrations during long working periods without holidays, so they should probably be treated as such! Sending wishes for a great weekend is the proof of participating in the celebration of a Saturday-to-Sunday rest. Posting or mailing one of our weekend images expresses your will to share the joy and the fun of being away from your work post for a while. On Monday, it’s “back to production”, but, until then, have a beautiful weekend.
